The Steam Plant is recruiting for an Executive Chef. The Executive Chef will be responsible for all food production at the Steam Plant including that used for the restaurant, bar, banquet functions, and event center. The Chef is responsible for developing menus, food purchase specifications and recipes. The Chef is also responsible for supervising all Kitchen Staff including the Sous Chef, Cooks, and Dish Stewards. Also responsible for developing and monitoring food and labor budget for the department while maintaining professional food quality and sanitation standards.
High school diploma or equivalent with two-year culinary degree preferred. Qualified candidates must have 7+ years’ experience in an executive kitchen position. Demonstrated knowledge of current restaurant industry trends and culinary creativity. Must have knowledge of local, state and federal food sanitation standards. Candidates must have a passion for the business and compassion for people. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and outstanding leadership, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills is required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays.
